Coach Josh Floyd is entering his 4th season at Hewitt-Trussville. Last season, the Huskies finished 11-1 after going 10-0 in the regular season for the first time in school history. The Husky offense set a new state record for yards per game in 2016 and also led Class 7A in scoring. The Huskies have had 13 players sign D1 FBS or FCS scholarships over the last 2 years. Coach Floyd was named the 2014 Birmingham News Metro Coach of the year for his efforts.

Coach Floyd spent 10 seasons as a Head Coach at Shiloh Christian High School in Springdale, Arkansas, where they won 4 state titles & 1 state runner-up finish. Shiloh finished nationally ranked three years in a row from 2008-2010, with their highest final ranking coming in 2009 at #23 by the USA Today. Coach Floyd has been named Coach of the Year several times in Arkansas over his 10 years at Shiloh. In 2009, the American Football Monthly named him one of the top 10 coaches under the age of 40.

Coach Floyd has had over 40 student-athletes that have gone onto play at the collegiate level, with several of them going to Division 1 schools. In 2010, QB Kiehl Frazier was named the USA Today Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Saints to three straight state championships. During Coach Floyd's time at Shiloh, several players set new state records in both offensive and defensive categories.

Floyd played college football at Ouachita Baptist University before a career-ending injury. Before that, he set 2 national records at Shiloh Christian High School, while leading the Saints to their first state championship under the tutelage of Coach Gus Malzahn.

Floyd and his wife Kate have been married for 14 years and have three boys, Peyton (12), Parker (10) & Jack (7).
